MAGAZINE MOSAICS

FIRST SIGHT

This piece was the first of this collection. It was completed in March of 2024. I was inspired to make "FIRST SIGHT" when I saw magazines sitting in a basket and instantly envisioned this finished piece. So I went to work making my vision a tangible, communicable art piece. This piece was created using hundreds of magazine clippings, from multiple magazines.

LOOKER

This piece was created due to the material I had. I found this canvas size in my arsenal and thought that eyes would fit perfectly on it. It was a last minute decision to go with black and white, but a good decision. Contrasting the creative process of my other magazine mosaic pieces, this piece was made from one magazine, The New Yorker.

BOYS RANCH

All of the materials used to create this piece were sourced from the Albany County Public Library, including the background. The background originates from a free western novel that I never bothered reading.This piece references a photo of my fiancé on his horse Oscar herding cows. I have been wanting to create a western themed magazine mosaic piece for sometime, once I was shown this photo I knew it would be the perfect reference.
